Come join our Heart of Missouri Girls on the Run teams as they complete their 5k on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Mizzou’s Stankowski Field. These 3rd-5th grade girls have been working together to build community, instill self-esteem, and develop healthy relationships while training hard to build physical fitness and complete a 5k. We’ll send the girls out with a big cheer at 8:30 am, and then start the community race a few minutes later.

NEW for the Spring 2013 5k:

Sumits Hot Yoga will be hosting a high-energy stretch for all race participants!
Girls on the Run participants, running buddies, community racers and family members will be treated to a special celebration.
RACERS REWARD! All racers and runners will be treated to a special post-race celebration called the Racers Reward. Snacks, drinks, and more will be available. Check back often to see our list of exciting give-aways.
FUN ZONE! This FREE area is for everyone! Spectators, families, runners–absolutely EVERYONE–is invited to come celebrate in the fun zone. This area will feature a bounce house, games, giveaways and more.
Check back often to see what we’ve added to make participants and their families GO BANANAS!

Registration is $25 per participant until May 1st, $30 through May 8.
Teams of 4 or more can register for $20 per person.
Shirt sizes are guaranteed to those who register by May 1st.
Packet pick up will be Friday, May 10 from 3-7 pm at ParentLink (4800 Santana Circle, Columbia, MO 65203) or on the morning of the race at Stankowski field at 7:30 am.
Race starts at 8:30 am for GOTR participants and running buddies and at 8:35 am for community participants.

We also need volunteers to help at the 5k. Please contact Emily Wright at emily.wright0897@gmail.com if you can help. If volunteering during the race (excluding set up/clean up), a background check is required (for the safety of our girls).
Volunteer positions available: set up, registration/packet pick up, course monitors, water station, food tent, and clean up.
